4 stages. 1 sunset.
For the sunset ride, according to the provider: no riding experience needed, calm horses.
Accompanied all the way, from the stable and back.
Provided. You just need long trousers and sturdy shoes.
Santa Margalida explicitly provides the Son Bauló–Son Serra coastal path for riders.

If you only ride by the sea once, make it an evening: the sun sits low over the bay, the horses' shadows grow long and the beach goes quiet. That's why the sunset rides go fast.

Your season.
During the day the bathing beaches belong to the swimmers, so rides follow dune and coastal paths, always with the sea in view.
Around 20 degrees, soft light, the dunes in flower in April. The best weeks for horse and rider.
Outside the bathing season horses may go down to the water on many of the island's beaches. Empty, wide, clear views.
Good to know: each town sets its own beach rules. In natural parks such as Es Trenc or Mondragó, dunes and beaches stay protected all year.
Goosebumps by the water.

Your questions.
When is the best time?
Spring and autumn for longer rides, sunset for the best pictures, winter for empty beaches.
Can you ride on every beach on Mallorca?
Not everywhere and not always. Each town sets its own beach rules, in the bathing season horses are not allowed on most bathing beaches, and in the natural parks dunes and beaches stay protected all year. The providers know the permitted routes. For the precise, here are the rules of the towns that name horses explicitly:
| Town | Rule | When | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alcúdia | Horses may not be ridden on the beach or in the water. | 1 April – 31 October | Ordenança de convivència, BOIB 161/2008, art. 63.5 |
| Muro | All animals, horses included, are banned from the beach. | Bathing season | Ordenança d'ús i aprofitament de platges, BOIB 108/2011, art. 19.1 |
| Santa Margalida | The only explicit permission: horses may use the Sendera Blava path between Son Bauló and Port de Son Serra, not the dunes, no canter within 100 m of walkers, with passport and liability insurance. | Path only; beach times for animals set in art. 28 | Ordenança d'ús i aprofitament de les platges i litoral, BOIB 94/2022, art. 28 i 29.1 |
| Capdepera | Animals of any kind "such as dogs, horses" are banned from beaches in the bathing season. | 1 March – 31 October | Ordenança de convivència, BOIB 100/2012, art. 185.1 (mod. BOIB 60/2016) |
| Son Servera | Riding horses across the beaches is banned. | All year (beach ordinance) | Ordenanza de uso y aprovechamiento de playas, BOIB 32/2019, art. 11.6 |
| Campos | Horses are banned on beaches, bathing areas (rocky coast included) and in the water; fine 90 €. | March – October | Ordenança de policia, bon govern i convivència, BOIB 103/2026, art. 38.1 |
| Andratx | Horses may not be ridden on the beach or in the water. | 1 April – 31 October | Ordenança de convivència, BOIB 53/2012, art. 63.5 |
