Mallorca Horses
The Puig family and their horse world in the Randa Valley.
Mallorca Horses is a family-run riding centre in the Randa Valley near Algaida, in the middle of the island. The Puig family teaches, rides and works here with its horses every day, from a child’s first lesson to academic riding at an advanced level.

A ride begins before the saddle.
Grooming, saddling and a horse chosen for its rider.
At Mallorca Horses the first part of a visit happens on the ground. Guests arrive at the yard, meet the horses and help to groom and saddle the horse they are going to ride. A brush over the coat, a hoof lifted and cleaned, the girth checked once more.

The family chooses the horse beforehand. The aim is a horse that suits the rider, whether that rider sits in the saddle every week or has never touched a horse. Instruction begins beside the horse and continues in the arena or out in the valley.
That is why the experience is shaped around rider and horse rather than around a timetable. Rides through the valley take six riders at most, and every ride can also be booked as a private one.

Ranches, dressage clubs and competitions behind them, the valley around them.
Mallorca Horses is a family business across generations. Toni Sr., the head of the family, found his way into the equestrian world early. At fourteen he was already riding in horse shows and on excursions, in competition and in dressage, and he has stayed in the saddle ever since. He taught his son, Toni Jr., and the family hopes that more generations will follow.
The family background lies in ranches, dressage clubs and competitions. Those years also showed the Puigs what they did not want to repeat, a way of working with horses without enough care. Mallorca Horses grew out of that decision, a complete centre where guest and horse both receive close and personal attention.

Good riding starts with attention.

Dressage sits at the centre of the family’s work, because it builds a deeper connection between rider and horse. The Puigs teach riding as an art rather than as a sport.
Randa is where this happens every day. The centre lies in the valley near the Puig de Randa, among vineyards, oak woods and olive trees, and it is home to the horses and to members of the family. Stallions have stables and paddocks with more quiet, geldings and mares share large paddocks, and next to the grooming areas lie the arena and a few separate spaces for dressage work.

Riding as an art.
Dressage at the centre, from a first lesson to FEI level.
Lessons range from a first lesson for children aged three to six to private sessions in academic riding at an advanced FEI level, with classical riding, group lessons for newcomers and natural handling in between. Programmes of three or five days combine lessons and rides, and advanced riders can book an intensive clinic with two arena sessions a day.
The rides start in the valley. The shortest takes two and a half hours, longer routes lead into old Mallorca, through the vineyards or up to the Puig de Randa, and some end with a picnic, a wine tasting or the sunset. Guests who book on the centre’s website are collected free of charge in Llucmajor and Algaida.

Four decades alongside film crews and live audiences.
Shows run through the family story. Toni Sr. began with horse shows at fourteen, and today Mallorca Horses prepares horses for film, advertising and audiovisual productions, with more than four decades of experience alongside technical and creative teams.
More than thirty horses with different coat colours, builds and levels of training make it possible to match a horse to a script or a campaign. They are used to cameras, flashes, lights and technical set ups. The family has worked on large audiovisual projects and live shows with the same priorities every time, the welfare of the horse, technical precision and professionalism.

The same horses perform in tailor-made shows for corporate events, trade fairs, product launches and institutional celebrations, from short exhibitions to full shows of more than ninety minutes. They are trained in Spanish High School, classical and vaquera dressage, on the long reins and in hand. At weddings some couples arrive on horseback, others welcome their guests with riders in period costume. Andalusian and Menorcan horses make up the yard.
