SecondChance.

Horses whose future was uncertain live here in the herd and carry guests across the land, onto the beach and into the sea.

01A second chance

Horses with a past.

Many of the horses that now carry guests came to NaturaCavall with an uncertain future.

NaturaCavall buys horses whose competition careers had ended, whose owners could no longer keep them or who stood on remote fincas. What comes first is time and space, a carefully managed diet, veterinary checks and intensive care where it is needed.

Only then is each horse prepared, physically and mentally, for the routes.

In between the horses live together outdoors in broad fields. For riders it means the horse under them has come all that way.

02Riding in the Llevant

Barebackinto the sea.

When weather and conditions allow, guests on the coastal route ride bareback into the turquoise water and the horse swims.

Riding here means the east of Mallorca, across the family’s own land, through the woods, onto the beach and, for experienced riders, whole days in the saddle. Besides day rides, NaturaCavall also offers rides over several days, such as the Hammock Ride over two days with a night in hammocks at Finca Sa Murtera.

Three cowboys. One herd.

Joan Ferrer passed his love of horses on to his sons Xavier and Joan Pere early on, and the family has lived in the countryside around Manacor for generations.

In 2019 the three decided to give their working lives to horses. NaturaCavall started with six horses, and the same people still care for the horses, train them and ride them out.

Cattleagainstthe clock.

Horse and rider work as a team to sort cattle out of the group as fast as they can. What counts is the connection with the horse, quick decisions and teamwork. NaturaCavall runs its own events and trains first-timers as well as experienced riders.

Where the day slows down.

An old farmstead a short walk from the horses, above the Manacor valley.

A former Arab farmstead named Maimo Azermico is documented here in 1239. Restored with its traditional architecture intact, the house now holds apartments with one and two bedrooms, a pool, shared courtyards and a natural cave for the evenings.

Around it lies a working farm with Mallorcan black pigs, sheep, Mallorquina cattle, hens and almond and carob trees, and children can ride the ponies and help feed the animals.
